Surfer rescued during media interview

UPDATE 2.40PM: AS young surf life saving members Aidan Yourell, Rachael Redman and Jacob Harcourt were being interviewed for their role in Sunday's tinny rescue, they were called out to another emergency.

The Northern Star followed them to Shark Bay where a man had been surfing and was washed up onto nearby rocks.

He had damaged his legs on the rocks but managed to get himself back to shore.

Paramedics attended to him but he only had minor injuries.

 

INITIAL: AN interview with the young teenagers involved in a rescue on the weekend as turned into a scoop for The Northern Star as another rescue has unfolded.

Photographer Cath Adams and journalist Cathryn McLauchlan were interviewing the Evans Head Surf Life Saving teenagers involved in Sunday's tinny rollover when an emergency call was received.

The rescue of a person at Shark Bay is currently underway and more details will be reported as they come to hand.
