Infiniti reveals Q30 compact concept

LUXURY car maker Infiniti has revealed the Q30 Concept, which merges coupe, hatchback and crossover styling.

The Q30 Concept will have its world premiere at the Frankfurt motor show next month as a preview to the next step in Infiniti's foray into new premium segments.

Infiniti, the luxury offshoot of Nissan, says the Q30 Concept signals the contemporary design vision for a compact vehicle which will target a new generation of premium customers.

Launched in Australia about one year ago, Infiniti currently only has two body types on offer - the M four-dour sedan and the FX large SUV.

Since entering the market Down Under the brand has battled to gain awareness in the premium genre. Infiniti sold 18 cars last month and only 170 so far this year, according to VFACTS data. 

But Infiniti is moving forward with some interesting offerings, including this new concept. 

The Q30 has been designed to "deliberately challenge categorisation". It is designed for younger customers seeking an alternative to traditional premium compact vehicles and open to convention-challenging approaches.
