Indigenous artists invited to participate in show

ARTS Northern Rivers has invited local indigenous artists to be part of the upcoming Ngarakal Githabal Dialect Exhibition.

The exhibition will be held at Lismore City Hall in May.

The show will include artwork by artists who identify as Ngarakbal, Githabal, Widjabal, Yugambeh, Arakwal, Mythabul, Mullunjali, Wai Bal and Yaegl.

The exhibition is the culmination of The Bundjalung Project, developed by Arts Northern Rivers to reconnect artists with early mark makings.

Mark Cora, Indigenous Arts Development Officer at Arts Northern Rivers, said that for this exhibition, artists have been asked to explore Bootheram Lore, which uses landscape and the sky as a reference for this creation lore.

"We are interested in hearing from all indigenous artists living in the Northern Rivers who work across any medium," he said.

Expressions of interest can be submitted now and artworks are to be delivered by May 6
