New Mental Health Integration Plan launched

THE Northern NSW Mental Health Integration Plan has been launched, providing better care for people.

The plan grew out of the Page Health Leadership Forum, established by Page MP Kevin Hogan to promote greater collaboration between the various local health service providers.

"We need to provide much more integrated care around people's needs with multi-disciplinary teams of professionals to make the system easy for patients and their families," he said.

Suggested actions include a person-centred approach; increased co-location of services; and community education to reduce stigma of mental illness.
