Each Lismore "star" has been paired with a local dance instructor who has been charged with teaching them a dance routine to be performed at a gala evening on May 30 at the Lismore Workers Club.

Like the popular television show it's based on, Stars of Lismore will canvass a range of styles including rock and roll, salsa, flamenco, swing, tap, ballet, jazz, modern, pole, belly dancing, ballroom and hip hop.

The VIP judges are expected to be MPs Kevin Hogan and Thomas George, along with Kimberley Garlick and Tamaya Rose. They have been given the difficult task of deciding who Lismore's best "star" dancer is.

There will also be a people's choice award voted by the audience and a highest fundraiser award.
