Ideal weekend weather is another good reason to go fishing

SOME GOOD fishing weather on the cards this weekend so it's worth calling in the brownie points.

Low swell, little wind in the mornings and slight current mean it's worth heading outside for snapper, tuskfish, flathead and the odd small pearl perch from the close reefs and out to the 32-fathom marks.

Small kings and pearlies have been taken out wider and even out on the Continental Shelf it's been fishable.

The beaches have some good bream, with whiting and dart also starting to pick up.

The estuaries are also warming up nicely with whiting firing up, flathead from Ballina to Pimlico and bream from there to Wardell.

Crabs are scuttling around in the main river to Wardell and in Emigrant Creek. And the mangrove jacks are moving in for the summer.
