House fire at Upper Main Arm

UPDATE 2.15pm: A house that was alight at Upper Main Arm has been totally destroyed by fire.

A Newcastle Fire Communications spokesman said the Bangalow RFS Brigade had confirmed the home had gutted by fire and all people from the house had been accounted for.

Police are establishing a crime scene and the cause of the fire will be investigated.

 

RURAL Fire Service crews are currently responding to a house fire at Upper Main Arm, northwest of Mullumbimby.

A Newcastle Fire Communications spokesman said numerous calls were received since 1.35pm reporting a motorcycle inside a house on Dry Creek Rd at Upper Main Arm had caught fire.

When fire fighters arrived they found the house fully engulfed in flames.

Police, paramedics and Energy Australia have been advised of the incident.

It is not known whether anyone was inside the house at the time.
