House fire in South Lismore

FIREFIGHTERS have responded to a house fire in Cromer Street, South Lismore, this morning.

The call for emergency services came just after 8am.

No injuries have been reported.

A couple with seven children were renting the property which was fully engulfed by the fire when emergency crews arrived on the scene just three minutes after receiving the call.

The mother, Renee Devine, quickly got six of her children out of the house before they were injured. Her hair caught fire as she grabbed her two-year-old daughter and fled the house. The seventh child was already at school.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The family now needs a place to live and other necessities, including clothing, bedding, etc.

If you can help with any donations, please call Andrew Morgan, on 0411 110 202.
