Hotel gets a $2m spruce-up
A $2 MILLION revamp of the Lennox Hotel will see the seaside village become a key destination for functions such as conferences and weddings.
The historic hotel, situated right opposite Seven Mile Beach, has been undergoing major renovations in recent months, and work is now just weeks away from being completed.
It will have state-of-the-art facilities designed to target the Northern Rivers growing conference and wedding market, such as new conference rooms, improvements to the restaurant, bars and catering facilities.
The hotel’s Troy Lister said the new conference rooms would be able to cater for more than 200people, allowing them to compete with the more traditional destinations such as the Gold Coast and Byron Bay.
He said they decided to target the conference market becausepeople were looking for something different.
“Recent improved access to Lennox Head through direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne and the upgrade of the Pacific Highway north to Brisbane and the Gold Coast has really exposed us like never before,” he said.
“We are investing as a result of increased inquiries from those looking for an alternative experience.
“We have also seen Lennox become a popular wedding spot, with many couples heading to Lennox Head to say their vows and we want to cater to this market.
