Hot rods head to spectacular turnout

THIS weekend car lovers can get a thrill and contribute to charity at the same time at the Trojans Tullera Turnout.

The Turnout at Tullera's Spinaze Park tomorrow will see around 100 hot rods and custom cars out on display while rock'n'roll bands play in a fundraiser for Our Kids and the Tullera Fire Brigade.

Secretary of the organizing body, the Trojans Rod and Custom Club, Toni Pacey, said the Turnout was a bit like a family gathering for them.

"It's a group of car enthusiasts getting together and displaying their pride and joy," Mrs Pacey said.

"These guys and girls spend a lot of money, time and effort on their cars and these events are a chance for them to show the public and other car enthusiasts what they've done."

At the same time, they're happy to be able to give something back to community charities while they get to enjoy a great day out.

"We figure if we can get together and we can help out a charity, all the better (and) it's a perfect opportunity to do that," she said.

Even if you're not a huge car lover, Mrs Pacey explained, there's something to keep all members of the family entertained - from bands, rock'n'roll displays and plenty of stalls, from food and drinks to rock'n'roll memorabilia or car related stuffs.
