Hot music line-up to warm up Bello Winter

AFTER a hugely successful debut last year, organisers are thrilled to announce the return of the Bello Winter Music festival.

Running from July 7 to 10, this year's festival has attracted a long line of great acts which will see Bellingen's clubs, cafes, churches and halls hosting more than 100 performances.

"We are really excited about this year's festival," Maggie Quirk, one of the festival organisers said.

"We set a solid foundation in 2015. Saturday tickets sold out, we drew a diverse and good natured crowd and we were overwhelmed with the positive feedback from both the community and the media after the event.

"We are ecstatic that the festival will be returning for its second year."

Headlining the billboard will be Willie Watson and Kylie Auldist.

New York born Watson, co-founder of highly regarded Americana outfit Old Crow Medicine Show, recently toured here as a band member with Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings Machine.

Watson is coming back to perform at the music festival along with Joshua Hedley, one of Nashville's emerging stars.

Neo-soul diva Kylie Auldist, who also fronts the Bamboos and Cookin' on Three Burners, will fire up the long Bello winter night with hot funk and soul.

A track by Cookin' on Three Burners, featuring Auldist's vocals and remixed by French producer Kungs has hit number 1 on the French singles charts.

The family-friendly, affordable festival for all ages is held in a tightly clustered group of venues which allows music goers the chance to simply walk from gig to gig or maybe even grab a ride to another venue on the free psychedelic Magic Bus.

Also appearing in July will be Jaaleekaay, the extraordinary musical collaboration of two of Gambia's leading musicians in singer Yusupha Ngum and kora prodigy Amadou Suso performing with respected Australian guitarist Steve Berry.

There will also be blues legend Jeff Lang, the incredible Mojo Juju, Tora, Sahara Beck, King Tide, Tijuana Cartel, All Our Exes Live in Texas, Tek Tek Ensemble, Desmond Cheese and Sweet Jean will join many more local and national guests.
