Horse rescued from septic tank

A HORSE on a Caniaba property is recovering today after it fell into a septic tank yesterday afternoon.

Police Rescue were called to the property about 3.30pm and when they arrived at the scene they quickly realised they needed assistance from council to rescue the horse.

Council were called about 4pm and arrived soon after with a sewerage pumper truck and a truck with a small crane to help remove the horse, which was stuck in the septic tank with its head and neck above the sewerage level.

The septic tank was pumped out and the horse was lifted to safety at about 5.30pm, without any major injuries.

The last thing police rescue officers saw was the horse enjoying a well deserved shower.
