Homer Simpson takes on Ice Bucket Challenge

WITH the world having now run out of humans to take the Motor Neurone Disease ice bucket challenge, the charity drive has now moved on to fictional characters, with The Simpsons posting a video of Homer doing it albeit with a patricidal twist.

Homer throws a cup of ice water over his head in the clip, before Bart circles in a helicopter and drops penguins hockey players, Olaf from Frozen, Santa Claus, a yeti and ice cream on him.

Get it! They're all cold things! Like ice! Play me off, Bleeding Gums Murphy…

Homer's inevitable ice bucket challenge comes after Kermit the Frog became the first puppet to get involved last week when he was challenged by WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

A lot of celebrities have used the challenge as an opportunity to show off their summer bikini bodies, but Sir Patrick Stewart went for the classy option, simply signing a donation cheque for Motor Neurone Disease, or ALS as it's known overseas, before adding ice to a glass of whiskey and taking an insouciant sip.

As irksome as the inescapable challenge may be, it has raised over AUD$94 million for the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
