Home run heroics

HOME runs have been the flavour of the month in the Open Mixed competition.

Goonellabah Meteors’ Jono Grace hit four, Mark Grace three, and Myles White one; Goonellabah CCs’ Tony Cowan hit five, Michael Claydon three and Casino Misfits’ two, to name a few.

This week will see the battle between the Casino Misfits and Workers Buzzards.

Misfits will have to pull out a big one to get on top of the unbeaten Buzzards.

Chris Daley, Jason Rucker and Elise Piccoli are solid all-rounders for Buzzards.

Misfits Val McLean is reliable from the mound, team members Mark Virtue and Sharon Blake will work hard in the field to stay in this one. I tip Buzzards to get the points here.

In the under-18s, competition leaders Workers Mighty Ducks will be looking to continue their winning streak when they come up against Casino Cubs at 6.30pm.

The under-15 game at 5pm will see Dodger Braves take on a depleted Goonellabah Wildcats.

The 13s at 6.30pm will see Dodger Mustangs providing a tough clash for Byron Supersox and Goonellabah Cheetahs and Byron Hotsox should be a close one.

Selection for under-16 girls and boys, under-19 young men and ladies and Open women will be at Albert Park on December 13 from 9am to 12pm.

If you wish to be considered and are unable to attend please contact Allan 6629 8146.
