Home invaders at large

TWO men are at large and one remains in custody over an alleged home invasion and stabbing in South Grafton on Sunday night.

Brendan Robert Appo, 25, of South Grafton, did not enter a plea on three charges against him at Grafton Local Court on Monday.

Appo was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, recklessly causing grievous bodily harm in company and aggravated break and enter causing a serious indictable offence - wound.

He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused by Magistrate David Heilpern.

The alleged offences occurred about 10pm at a home in Kennedy St, South Grafton.

Police said three men pushed their way into the home after being greeted at the front door by the 19-year-old male resident.

Once inside, one of the men allegedly stabbed the young man in the chest, but circumstances leading up to alleged stabbing were unclear.

Police said the man suffered wounds to the chest, face and hip and was taken to a North Coast hospital.

The motive of the alleged attack is unclear at this stage. The 19-year-old victim was in a stable condition yesterday afternoon.

Police are following leads in pursuit of the two remaining suspects.
