Holiday Park wins commendation award

BYRON Bay’s Clarkes Beach Holiday Park was awarded a commendation award on 27 July 2011 for Excellence in Environmental Innovation at the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner at Ettalong Beach Club.

Association chief executive Barry Baillie says that the Awards of Excellence recognise caravan and holiday parks, manufactured home villages and estates, caravan and RV manufacturers and dealers as well as industry suppliers across 22 categories for business excellence.

“The Awards of Excellence is the industry’s highlight event which recognises business excellence in the caravan and camping sector and is the highest accolade that a caravan, RV or camping business can achieve,” he said.

Judges said they were impressed with Clarkes Beach Holiday Park’s implementation of a huge stormwater infrastructure project that will prevent erosion within the park and reduce localised neighbourhood flooding.

More than 270 industry members from across NSW gathered at Ettalong Beach Club for the association’s Awards of Excellence, staged with a “Hollywood” flavour.

Glitter, red carpets and golden Oscars set the scene for special guests Brydon Stace and Paul Martell. Brydon’s renditions of Frank Sinatra classics had audiences chanting for an encore whilst the side splitting comedic routines of Paul Martell had crowds in stitches throughout the night.
