Hitchin a ride for cancer cure

DOCTOR Sue Page isn’t much of amotorcycle rider – but she’s an awesome passenger.

“The trick is to move your body with the rider,” she said.

Dr Page will show off her motorbike passenger, or pillion, skills on May 1, when local cancer research fundraising group Crackin’ Cancer hosts the Great Crackin’ Cancer Motorcycle Ride.

The ride will wind from Lismore, through Casino, Coraki, Woodburn, Broadwater, and Wardell before pulling up at East Ballina’s Shaws Bay Hotel for music, lunch and prizes.

Entry fees are $15 per rider and $10 per passenger. There will also be raffles and competitions along the way and opportunities for members of the public to make donations.

Ride organiser Marshall Fittler called for motorbike riders to sign up for the ride and for volunteers to handle collection buckets at different towns. Call Mr Fittler on 4011 840 797 if you can help.
