Hiatus Kaiyote launches new EP

THE Grammy-nominated Hiatus Kaiyote have released their digital-only EP Recalibrations, Volume 1.

Hiatus Kaiyote is a future-soul quartet that formed in Melbourne in 2011.

The members of the band aree are Naomi 'Nai Palm' Saalfield, Paul Bender, Simon Mavin and Perrin Moss.

Although Nai Palm is from Melbourne, she can almost be considered a honorary 'Byronian' as she has close friends  in the area and she visits frequently.

Her latest visit was last Easter for Bluesfest.

The EP contains remixes and alternate takes of songs from both of Hiatus Kaiyote's full-length albums, and includes an amazing remix of Laputa by Taylor McFerrin that features Anderson Paak.

Their 2015 album Choose Your Weapon garnered critical acclaim making a number of Best of 2015 (So Far) lists, and was also nominated for a Grammy.

The band will be playing at the Sydney Opera House for the Vivid Festival on May 31.

Their celebrated 2013 debut album Tawk Tomahawk was championed by media and fellow artists including Questlove, Erykah Badu, Pharrell and Prince, among others and also earned them a Grammy nomination.
