Help Casino drags get new timing equipment
THE Northern Rivers Drag Racing Association has launched a gofundme webpage to raise money to improve the organisation’s timing equipment.
President Mark Anderson said we need a new timing system, so let’s see how much we can raise.
“The aim is to make the racing closer and better for all with a new system we can offer you reaction times 60 foot and 1/8 mile times as well as terminal speed,” he said.
“Also we can then offer you a whole new kind of racing were you could race anyone on the track on the race day and have a chance of taking home a trophy.
“So if you want to see better racing please donate to our cause and help us make Casino drags bigger and better for years to come.”
Association stalwart Kate Arvanitis created the gofundme webpage on Thursday and was aiming to raise $35,000.
“Northern Rivers Drag Racing Association is a not for profit organisation that runs a community drag racing event in our small rural town of Casino, northern NSW,” Mrs Arvanitis said.
“With the approval of Richmond Valley Council and The Australian National Drag racing Association (ANDRA) we hold four events per year at our local Casino air strip.
“With a dedicated small committee and some loyal volunteers we provide a supervised, safe and legal drag racing event to ensure that our local youth, young families and motor enthusiasts come together being educated in a controlled environment, reducing the incidence of illegal and uncontrolled racing in our area.”
“This funding project would mean a lot to our local youth, young families and general community members giving them a venue that not only provides disciplined racing but a great safe family day out in the community.
“We would be so grateful for your donation as your money will go in keeping our streets safe and our youth educated in a controlled motor sport environment.”
