Helmetless cyclist caught with cannabis

A BYRON Bay man riding a bike at night without lights and a helmet was caught with what police believed to be cannabis on Saturday night.

The 52-year-old was stopped and searched by police on Burringbar St, Mullumbimby.

Several bags of green vegetable matter were discovered and seized.

The male was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear at Mullumbimby Local Court on May 23.
