Heavy traffic expected on Bruxner Highway

UPDATE 10:45am: The Gwydir Highway has reopened in both directions near Biniguy, roughly 40km east of Moree following a vehicle salvage operation.

All diversions have been lifted.

There are no delays for motorists in the area.

 

ORIGINAL REPORT: HEAVY vehicle traffic is expected to increase throughout the day as trucks are advised to use the Bruxner Highway due to the closure of the Gwydir Highway.

The Gwydir Highway is expected to be closed in both directions for some time while a vehicle involved in a fatal crash last night is salvaged.

The salvage operation is occurring at Biniguy, about 40km east of Moree.

Diversions which are in place for light vehicles around the crash scene are not suitable for heavy vehicles.
