Healthy emergency results at Lismore Base Hospital

PATIENTS who attended Lismore Base Hospital Emergency Department between July and September 2012 were treated faster than patients admitted in the same quarter of 2011.

The information was revealed by the Quarterly Hospital Report which provides information on emergency departments and elective surgeries by hospitals across NSW.

A total of 7458 patients were recorded at the Lismore Base Hospital Emergency Department in the past quarter, 7220 of whom were coded as emergency presentations.

A total of 769 patients were classified as Triage 2, (Imminent life-threatening) with a median time to start treatment of six minutes, two minutes less than the NSW average for the same period.
