Have a piece of pizza at Piazza in the Park
GET ready to celebrate Lismore’s Italian cultural heritage and it’s all for free.
Fun in the park
The inaugural Friendship Festival offers locals and visitors a chance to take part in a Piazza in the Park which invites all to come and ‘be an Italian for a day’.
From 10 am to 3 pm there will be non-stop family fun and festivities in Spinks Park in the city’s CBD with great food, loads of musical entertainment, dancing in the park, displays of Italian cars and bikes along with kids activities and Italian conversation, market stalls, card games and mask making workshops.
The Friendship Festival pays tribute to Lismore’s ‘friendship relationship’ with Conegliano in the Veneto of northern Italy with a marketplace festival in Spinks Park on Sunday, June 26 2016.
Calling all stallholders
An invitation is now open to stallholders who can provide exciting and authentic Italian themed food and local produce to transform the city’s central park into a lively destination.
Those who wish to sell pasta, pizza, risotto, minestrone (it is winter after all!) gelato and other typical Italian delicacies can now register an interest by contacting Jenny at 0418723908 and check out the Friendship Festival facebook site.
Food stallholders need to comply with WH&S regulations, have a City Council Food Permit and provide organisers with a copy of a current Public Liability insurance cover.
Check the Facebook site for details of environmental, payment and site set up details. On the day, the adjacent Lismore Regional Gallery, Historical Society Museum, Bowling Club, CWA and Environment Centre will also be open to keep visitors to the Park busy.
After lantern parade
The event is the day after the Lismore Lantern Parade. Make a weekend of it as Lismore comes alive with amazing arts and cultural activities.
