Harrison hard at it in hospital

NRRRL secretary and CRL vice-president Doug Harrison is in hospital in Sydney following a health scare on a flight from Lismore.

Harrison, 60, was on his way to Parkes on Friday for a funeral but didn’t make the second leg of the trip after briefly losing consciousness with heart problems.

When the plane landed he was taken immediately to Prince Alfred Hospital.

Harrison said yesterday that if the doctors agreed he would be heading home today or tomorrow.

“I’ve never had a problem,” he said. “But you never know what’s around the corner.”

Northern Star reporter Matt Blomberg phoned Harrison on Sunday night seeking information about NRRRL Charity Shield pre-season games unaware of the situation.

Hospital or not, Harrison was still on the rugby league job and provided whatever information he could.
