Hard earned rest for Douglas after World Crush victory

YAMBA Buccaneers product and Australian Wallabies lock Kane Douglas has earned himself a good rest after the Wallabies delivered a crushing blow to the England side in the Rugby World Cup.

Douglas was rugged and determined in defence winning a vital turnover and in turn proving his much maligned selection in Michael Cheika's side.

The Wallabies never looked like losing to the Poms convincingly defeating the host side 33-13 booking themselves a place in the quarter finals.

Douglas who was brought back to Australia from English club Leinster ahead of the World Cup to allow selection was one of Australia's best on the field.

He was instrumental in Australia's dominance in the scrum, which was a drastic turn around from the 2007 World Cup where England walked all over the Wallabies.

Douglas has been a force in defence during the World Cup keeping his completion rate well above 80% and forcing a couple of crucial turnovers.

England have now made their exit from the Cup after they also lost to Wales last week.

Douglas has a week to rest before the Wallabies take on Wales at 2:45am Sunday morning (our time).
