Gymnasts flex their talents

NORTH Coast Academy of Gymnastics in Lismore has returned with good results from the NSW Country Championships at Gosford.

The academy had 39 competitors in the women's artistic, men's artistic, rhythmic, acrobatics gymnastics, cheerleading and trampoline sports.

Most competitors finished in a top six place and many took out the gold, silver and bronze medals and overall trophies.

The academy won the acrobatics gymnastics club of the year for the third year in a row, also finishing fourth overall country club.

At the National Championships for Sport Aerobics and Cheer- leading held in Melbourne a week earlier, the academy had two of its international-level athletes selected to the 2009-10 national aerobics squad.

Amy Behan and Sophie Beucker are training hard to be selected in the team to compete in Japan at the World Cup and for World Championships in France in 2010.
