Great Qld Bushwalk finds its feet

AIR out your boots and thick socks and don't forget the insect spray.

The National Parks Association of Queensland is celebrating The Great Queensland Bushwalk on August 25 and 26 through an assortment of free treks in the Glasshouse Mountains, Lamington and D'Aguilar national parks.

The Great Queensland Bushwalk will give walkers the chance to experience the serenity of nature and learn about the value of preserving our national parks in a healthy, engaging and social atmosphere.

A variety of walks will be hosted by professional, experienced leaders ranging from bush photography, wildflower and bird walks to kayaking, bike riding and bush yoga trails.

Executive coordinator Paul Donatiu said he hoped the event would encourage people to explore the diversity and beauty of our natural environment.

The Great Queensland Bushwalk promises to be a fun and informative event, enabling keen bushwalkers the opportunity to participate in unique activities while enjoying the precious environment.

All walkers should wear sensible shoes, sun protection and bring water and food if required.
