Great-grandmother wins Lotto million

A GREAT-grandmother from Evans Head can now call herself a millionaire after she won division one in last week's Wednesday Lotto draw.

The winner was taken by surprised when she checked her Wednesday Lotto ticket on Friday and discovered it had won her a first division prize worth $1 million.

"Wowee! I didn't have a clue. What a way to start 2014," she said.

"I play Lotto every week and have been playing those same lotto numbers for more years than I can remember.

"Now that I've won $1 million, I'll have to make sure I stay fit and healthy so I can enjoy my division one windfall."

The shocked winner said it was too early to say what she would do with her $1 million Wednesday Lotto prize.

"I don't have a clue what I'll use the money for but I have lots of family who'll no doubt help me spend some of my prizemoney," she jokingly added.

The winning 14-game recorded Wednesday Lotto entry was purchased at Evans Head Newsagency.
