Grants to help improve the life of our kids

NORTHERN Rivers families with children who have special needs are invited to apply for grants from Our Kids.

Our Kids grants are for the purchase of health-related medical equipment, therapeutic products or orthotics for individual children or groups.

In the past four years, Our Kids has administered grants totalling more than $60,000 for equipment and medical products that have brought life-enhancing help to children and their carers.

“Our Kids has been raising funds to help improve the health services for children on the Northern Rivers since 2001,” Our Kids fundraising co-ordinator Rebekka Battista said.

“The funds have helped in the purchase of lifesaving equipment for the Children's Ward and Special Care Nursery at Lismore Base Hospital, as well as the Our Kids Community Grants.

“Strong community support has enabled this project to grow, and it is an amazing way to give back to families in our community to look after children.”

This year's round of grants is now open.

Applications close on Wednesday, August 6.

Families wishing to apply should call 6620 2705, or email ourkids.LBH@ncahs. health.nsw.gov.au
