Goodes looking the goods for another stellar AFL season

IF Alessandro Del Piero can do it, so can Sydney Swans captain Adam Goodes.

Despite a glittering career that includes a club record 322 games, two premierships and two Brownlow medals, the 33-year-old Goodes has given no indication he is considering retirement.

And speaking at training ahead of tonight's night mouth-watering clash against Geelong at the SCG, Goodes admitted he had been inspired by the performances of the ageing Italian maestro.

"I'm a big fan of soccer," Goodes said.

"I've been to a lot of Sydney FC home games and watched Del Piero run around. I just marvel at what he can do on a soccer pitch at the age of 37."

In the absence of key forward Kurt Tippett who is suspended until June 22, Goodes has had less running around to do this season.

The former skipper has played all three games in attack, but said he was keen to return to the midfield once Tippett was available.

"Definitely I'd love to play more in the midfield ... but our midfield is playing so well and our keys up forward - myself, Sammy Reid and a ruckman as well," Goodes said.
