Hit and run driver gets good behaviour bond

A DRIVER has been slapped with a good behaviour bond after a serious hit and run incident.

Thomas Calvin Duff was sentenced in Byron Bay Local Court on Thursday to a 12-month good behaviour bond and his licence was disqualified for three years after hitting a pedestrian on the Old Pacific Hwy near the intersection with Newberry Pde, Brunswick Heads.

The incident occurred on February 19 when the 27-year-old man stuck the 23-year-old pedestrian.

The pedestrian was taken to Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition suffering head injuries.
