Gollan's passionate choice

TOOWOOMBA trainer Darryl Gollan will decide this afternoon whether to start Passionately Yours in tomorrow's Two-Year-Old Bracelet at Ballina.

Passionately Yours is one of two runners in the field eligible for the $50,000 bonus offered by Brisbane Bloodstock.

The other is Diamond Tipp, trained at Murwillumbah by Carolyn Halliday.

The bonus will be paid if the winner was bought at last year's February Brisbane yearling sale.

“I want to wait and see what the weather does,” Gollan said.

“I have drawn the visitor's barrier (barrier 10) which normally would have prompted me to stay at home but the bonus is a good reason to make the trip.

“There is also another complication with Ipswich also racing and I have runners there as well.”

Passionately Yours, by the young Brave Warrior stallion Ombra Della Sera, was bought by Gollan as a yearling for only $12,000 and has already earned more than $18,000 in prize money.

She is by far the most experienced runner in the field with eight starts for one win, as at Wednesday's Eagle Farm meeting, last January.

Gollan spelled the filly after that win but in five starts since she has not run a place.

“She has been a bit disappointing this campaign although she should have won her last start at the Sunshine Coast,” Gollan said.

“She got too far back early then made a long run and only ran out of steam in the last little bit.”

Toowoomba jockey Scott Richardson rode her that day and will ride her again tomorrow if she starts.

“Scott rides her in all her work and knows her,” Gollan said.

“I have told him that if we start I don't want him setting her such a task.”
