Gold Coast to visit region

THE Gold Coast Football Club will pay its first visit to the region for two days next week as part of the AFL’s Community Camps program.

Coach Guy McKenna will put his team through its paces with a training run on Monday morning at Oakes Oval in Lismore before heading to Ballina for free Auskick clinics and visits to local schools and hospitals.

The club will celebrate with locals 10 years of junior AFL football in the region at a dinner and forum on Monday night.

Where and When

Monday, February 8:

10am-11.30am: Training at Oakes Oval, Lismore; 12.30pm-2pm: Recovery at Ballina Surf Club; 3.15pm-5.30pm: Visits to local schools and community; Woodburn Auskick, Lismore Paediatric Hospital, Ballina JAFC, Lismore JAFC, Alstonville JAFC, Byron JAFC, Brunswick Heads JAFC; 7pm-9pm: Community Camp dinner, Ramada Hotel, Ballina;

Tuesday, February 9:

9.15am-11.30am: Visits to local schools and community at Lismore, Ballina, Alstonville, Lenox Heads; 12.45pm-3pm: Visits to local schools and community at Byron Bay, Pottsville, Kingscliff, Murwillumbah.
