Glee prevails over Star

IN IDEAL playing conditions on Saturday, Glee scored a 3-0 win against Northern Star in FNC Women’s hockey.

In goal for Star, Rebecca Grill, negated the early scoring opportunities from Glee but towards the end of the first half, Kim Chappell entered the fray and with a hard hit at goal, the deflection breached the defence to give Glee a 1-0 lead.

In the second half Star attacked strongly but frantic defence by Glee kept their opponents scoreless.

Melinda Slade, Star’s right half, Niki Amber and Leanne Albertini combined in defence but the forwards failed to finish off promising moves.

Cassie Douglas, Jodie Danvers and Megan Kendall were instrumental in setting up Glee’s second goal which was netted by Nic Danvers and she also added another off a penalty corner shot.
