Glamping specialist wins awards for unique accommodation

AUSTRALIA'S largest 'glamping' specialist, Flash Camp, which launched in Byron Bay, has won two major awards.

Flash Camp scooped Gold for Specialised Tourism Services and Silver for Unique Accommodation at last week's NSW Tourism Awards, proving the three-year-old business has well and truly made its mark on the tourism industry, with no sign of slowing down.

Flash Camp offers temporary luxury camping accommodation and services for festivals, special events, weddings and tourist destinations around Australia where guests can enjoy the experience of camping in hotel-style comfort.

Having just accommodated 500 guests during the week-long Mercedes-Benz GLC launch in Byron Bay, Flash Camp is now gearing up for its biggest season to date, 'popping-up' at The Falls Festival in Byron Bay, Glenworth Valley's Lost Paradise festival over New Year's and North Stradbroke Island over the summer holidays.

According to Flash Camp CEO, Cameron Arnold, the pop-up hotel experience will continue to grow in popularity as more events and destinations seek to provide a higher level of service.

"Flash Camp is all about enhancing the experience of being at a particular event or location," Mr Arnold said.

"Being a pop-up hotel opens up opportunities for events and destinations to provide a better offering which enables growth and expansion, without having to invest in infrastructure.

"Above and beyond our presence at festivals and events, we're well positioned to provide additional accommodation in partnership with existing tourism destinations to make the most of excess demand during peak seasons."
