A FIRE in a Gladstone suburb is threatening business and homes. Emergency services are fighting the grass blaze on Squire St, Toolooa.

The Observer understands the firebugs may have started the blaze.

Fire officers are considering evacuating homes and businesses.

It is believed some people have left the area voluntarily.
