Giant python living among Northern Rivers toddlers

IMAGINE finding this in your house that you share with your children?

Nathan Cooper of Brooklet, who lives with his children Santiago and Yindi, both three, and their dog Ginger, found this massive snake skin in their home.

"It's 3.3m, big enough to have a go at the dog," he said.

"I was watering my trees this morning when I saw this thing flapping from the roof near a frangipani tree, so I realised a python must have used the frangipani to get into the roof.

"I heard something big moving in the ceiling last night so it must have been it.

"I think it is a big python I saw once on the ground near the creek. It looked like an old python. It reared its head almost a metre high to scare me off.

"I am not worried. Pythons are part of the ecosystem and they belong here as much as we do."
