Getting cheeky for chopper charity

SAM BALL, 19, of Tregeagle knows the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter saves lives and that is why he agreed to go nude for charity.

Mr Ball and four of his OZtag football teammates dropped their kits to be photographed for the Good Sports Cheeky Calendar featuring Northern Rivers sportspeople.

"I know of people who had bike accidents in the bush," Mr Ball said.

They were transported to hospital by the helicopter.

The calendar is the result of 12 Lismore sporting clubs and organisations banding together to raise money for the service.

The clubs paid for the calendar, which if sold out will raise $12,000.

Calendars are on sale for $15.

They can be bought from Darrell Lea, Steve's Cake Shop, Recycled Sports, Jax Quickfit Tyres and the helicopter base and op shop as well as participating sports clubs - Lismore City Rugby Union, Marist Bros Cricket, Clunes Tennis, Rovers Soccer, Martial Arts First, OZtag Lismore, Redbirds Baseball, SCU Mountain Bikers, Lismore Basketball, SCU netball, East Lismore Hockey and the SCU Gym and Pool.
