Get your question answered in Question Time
PAGE MP Kevin Hogan has come up with an innovative way for his constituents to get a question asked in parliament.
Mr Hogan this week asked a question on behalf of David McIntyre of Cawongla during Question Time about NBN and mobile phone services in our community.
Mr McIntyre submitted the question after Mr Hogan opened up Question Time to residents of the Page electorate.
He's called for people to submit questions they want answered via his social media network.
"Social media has changed the way we all work, so why shouldn't it change the way Question Time works and open it up for people living in Page to ask a minister about a specific local issue that concerns them and others in our community," Mr Hogan said.
Mr McIntyre's question was: "When will people living our area get better Internet and mobile phone services?"
Mr Hogan put the question to the Paul Fletcher who was representing the Minister for Communications, Senator Mitch Fifield.
Mr Fletcher welcomed the question from Mr McIntyre.
"We have a very good story to tell in terms of NBN and Cawongla (with) most of Cawongla already covered by the NBN fixed-wireless footprint …. in addition those not covered by the fixed wireless service … will have the benefit of the statelite services due to begin by mid-next year," Minister Fletcher said.
