Get involved with Prawn Festival in Ballina

THE Ballina Prawn Festival will be held this year on Saturday, November 14, and organisers are calling for community groups and businesses to get involved.

Festival director Nadia Eliott-Burgess said last year's festival was an "overwhelming success" and it is expected more than 20,000 people will attend what is becoming Ballina's signature event.

"The event has enjoyed incredible growth in attendance over the past two years but the infrastructure costs are huge," Ms Eliott-Burgess said.

"We rely heavily on sponsorship contributions to make it all happen."

Sponsorship packages start at $400, but with media partners, including The Northern Star, "we are in the position to deliver significant promotional benefit for our sponsors".

Community groups and businesses are encouraged to enter floats in the grand opening parade.
