Future foretold at psychic fair

  • THE spiritual and open minded will congregate this weekend as the Nimbin Psychic Fair comes to town.

Jazmin Theadora, co-organiser of the fair, said it was set to be a "magical, mystical, loving, altruistic, spiritual fair."

She said it was set on the start of the Chinese Year of the Snake, leaving the Year of the Dragon behind.

Jazmin herself has a long history in the business of mysticism herself - she has worked as medium, astrologist, tarot reader, clairvoyant and in psychometry and herbal lore since the '60s.

Held at the Nimbin Town Hall from last night until Sunday evening, the fair showcases a lot of different readers, jewel stalls and food stalls and they're expecting a lot of people at the fair, as it's the time of year where people will be wanting answers for the year ahead and into the future, Jazmin said.

"Following the success of our first fair we have those psychics returning plus new ones coming from as far as Sydney."

All have the chance to find out what 2013 may bring, said Jazmin, from the range of tarot readers, psychics, astrologers, feng shui practitioners, palm readers and other mediums who will be working the fair.

"It's a way of getting answers for yourself and seeing what's coming up in the future," Jazmin said.

"What the cards show are the possibilities you can achieve - it's looking at it in a very positive way.

"It shows you a path you can take to achieve what you want from life and what opportunities are around you."

So why do so many people come to seek advice from these spiritual readers?

"People have problems they need answers to," Jazmin said - things they need to find peace with.

And as for skeptics?

Jazmin said she's had a lot of them come to see her for a reading only to find them walking out at the end a firm believer.
