Casino RSM Fun Run to test your muscles
HOW far do you think you can run - 10km, 5km, 2km?
On September 28 you will have the chance to find out, at the inaugural Casino RSM Fun Run.
So dust off the joggers, start stretching the muscles and get some training in as Athletics NSW and Little Athletics Casino will be supporting and organising the event for the whole community.
"The fun run is a way to engage with the local community and we think Casino will benefit," Athletics NSW development officer Scott Westcott said.
There will be three main races on the day.
"We are very happy to support events like these," Richmond Valley Mayor Ernie Bennett said.
"It's a perfect fit for Casino as it provides a family event and everyone can get involved.
"There may be a lot of people like me who will do a bit more walking and not much running."
While logistics and details are still being organised for the courses, Mr Westcott said the run would be based at Queen Elizabeth Park (QEP), with the Casino RSM 10km run starting from and finishing at the park.
The LJ Hooker 5km run starts from Casino RSM and finishes at QEP and the Parker and Kissane 4kids 2km event runs within QEP.
There will be prizes for the winners of each of the three races and an event T-shirt for early-bird entries.
Entries are now open at http://www.casinofunrun.com.au
To receive a free event T-shirt and be eligible for the early-bird rate, participants must enter by 5pm on September 5.
Organisers are seeking the support of volunteers, who can register by emailing: hayley.hancock @richmondvalley.nsw.gov.au
In-kind sponsors are invited to contact Athletics NSW event consultant Katie Kelly on 0481 458 640 to find out about available opportunities.
