Frosty start to the morning
IT'S BEEN another frosty start to the morning on the Northern Rivers, with more cold temperatures recorded across the region.
The Bureau of Meteorology has recorded both the actual temperatures and App Temperatures (what the temperature "feels" like).
According to BOM, temperatures reached lows of 0.6 in Ballina, -0.7 in Lismore, -1.1 in Casino and 10.5 in Byron Bay overnight.
At 5am this morning in Lismore it was -0.7 degrees, but felt like -4.5 degrees, said BOM, and by 7.30am it had warmed up to 1.4 but still felt like 3.2 degrees.
In the Lismore region some locals have noted seeing large amounts of frost or ice on their windscreens.
Over in Casino at 5am it was -1.1 degrees, but felt like -4.2 degrees, and by 7.30am it was 4 degrees but felt like 0.2 degrees.
In Ballina at 5am it was 1.7 degrees but felt like -0.1, but by 7.30am it was 2.7 degrees but still felt like 1.1 degrees.
Byron Bay was blessed with warmer weather than the rest of the region, with temperatures over 10 degrees all through the night. By 7.30am the temperature was 13.2 degrees, but felt like 9.9 degrees.
