Free shire calendar on offer for residents

BALLINA Shire Council has for the first time released a wall calendar.

The 2014 calendar is available to residents for free at the council chambers in Tamar St or the Ballina Visitor Information Centre in River St until stocks last.

The calendar contains lots of useful Northern Rivers markets and annual event information to help residents plan their playtime this year.

Images within the calendar were chosen to showcase the shire's diverse attractions as well as new infrastructure council has invested in.

"It seems like an odd thing to have within a calendar but photographer Trevor Worden has done an amazing job at capturing the impressive scale of our new waste water treatment plant," council's waste and water communication and education officer Kate Pye said.

A competition is open for budding local photographers to enter their favourite shire photos for a chance to get a month in the 2015 calendar.

For more information phone Kate Pye on 6686 1458.
