Frackman and Nahko talk Northern Rivers in documentary
AUSTRALIAN anti-CSG mining advocate Dayne Pratzky, also known as The Frackman, has joined forces with US singer songwriter Nahko Bear, and the pair discussed their Northern Rivers connection.
Pratzky said him and Nahko were introduced by Josh Fox, the filmmaker who directed the documentary Gasland.
"After we started talking we realised how much we had in common, and one of those things was the Bentley blockade and all the people we know in the Northern Rivers," he said.
Nahko got involved in the anti-CSG movement after he visited the Bentley blockade site with other artists during their stay in the area for Bluesfest 2014.
Pratzky received support from the local anti-CSG movement plus other organisations such as the Nimbin Community Centre, during his campaign to stop fracking in Chinchilla and Tara in Queensland.
In his latest documentary, Washed Away, Nahko Bear features some unreleased songs plus an interview with Pratzky, discussing the development of the gas industry in the US and Australia and Pratzky's personal story, portrayed in the film The Frackman.
