Thieves attack, rob delivery man

THIEVES are hitting new lows when it comes to taking what doesn't belong to them.

One unfortunate fast food delivery man learnt this the hard way while on the job.

Ballina police are investigating the assault and robbery of the 21-year-old courier while he was on a delivery run to Cherry Street, Ballina.

It is alleged the man was set upon after he made a delivery about 9.10pm last Thursday.

Police said that four young men attacked the delivery man, knocking him to the ground and stealing his money satchel.

His assailants were seen running from the area east along Fox Street.

The victim suffered swelling and soft tissue injury to his face in the attack.

Police said the cash and satchel were found nearby.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Ballina police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
