Founders have reasons to smile

A SOCIAL media website launched by two Fraser Coast men claims to have tripled its user base in the past few months.

Kondoot, which was created by Maryborough's Mark Cracknell and Hervey Bay's Nathan Hoad, combines the features of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Kondoot allows users to upload video, live broadcast, search, like, connect, follow and instant message.

Mark and Nathan still have not put a figure on how many users in total they have.

The company recently announced that EdgeCast Networks would be used to deliver its video content to users around the world.

"Kondoot's Social Live Video has revolutionised social networking and our strong growth reflects this. Our user base has tripled in the last few months, a rate of growth not even we could predict," Mr Cracknell said.

Kondoot is hoping its service will eventually be used by artists and entrepreneurs to connect with audiences around the world.

That gives artists the chance to broadcast for free or charge a fee for the viewing, a percentage of which will be claimed by Kondoot, which now has a user base spanning almost 200 countries.
