Former Derby boss set to join Swansea

SWANSEA City is set to unveil its third manager of the English Premier League season, with former Derby County boss Paul Clement ready to take the reigns.

Clement, sacked by Derby County last year, has been Carlo Ancelotti's No.2 at Bayern Munich for the past few months.

With the Swans rooted to the bottom of the league following a fourth straight defeat, Clement is is understood to have agreed a contract in principle to take over in south Wales, and will meet the players at their hotel before the game at Crystal Palace on Wednesday morning (AEST).

It appears likely he will observe that match from the stands with Alan Curtis and Paul Williams to take charge, meaning that his first full game in charge will be the FA Cup third-round tie against Hull on Saturday.

Gary Rowett, Ryan Giggs and Chris Coleman were also linked to the job following the sacking of American Bob Bradley last week.
