Car rolls into the Richmond River at Woodburn

Emergency services received a call that a person was trapped in a car that had gone into the Richmond River near the Woodburn Bridge on Monday night.

Woodburn SES and RFS volunteer crews raced to the scene at around 7.30pm believing they would need to make a rescue.

However, no one was in the car at the time it rolled into the river.

Local tow truck driver Murray Cross performed a tricky extraction of the vehicle from the river bank.
