Fords, Holdens, Chryslers and hot rods in Casino

REV up your engines and get yourselves out to this weekend's Northern Star Auto Spectacular, which promises to be bigger and better.

In its fifth year the event has been boosted with the recent sponsorship of our sister newspaper, the Northern Star.

"We hope this will boost numbers," organiser Paul Stewart said.

"It shows that local businesses are interested in (the event)."

Mr Stewart said anything and everything can turn up on the day.

"From Fords, Holdens, Japanese cars, Chryslers, hot rods and motorbikes," he said.

"Last year we had a tractor and we'd like to see more of those."

There are 42 trophies to be awarded to the best vehicle in its class.

"It's a great family day out as there will be a jumping castle, laser skirmish and markets," Mr Stewart said.

"We are hoping for about 200 cars as last year we had 146 with 800 people coming through the gate."

The event is on Sunday, October 18, at Albert Park, Bruxner Hwy, Casino.

Gates open 6am for entrants and 8am for the public.

Entry fee is $5, with proceeds donated to local charities.
